Project Pine Designs Workshop Rules

Safety, Respect & Responsibility

Project Pine Designs workshops are built around learning, creativity, community, and working together. To keep the workshop safe and enjoyable for everyone, all participants are expected to read and follow these rules before taking part in any workshop activity.

Safety is my top priority. These rules are in place to protect you, other participants, instructors, and the workshop itself. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the workshop and/or loss of access to future Project Pine Designs workshop activities.

Workshop Safety

Only use tools and equipment when instructed. If you are unsure how to operate a tool or machine, stop and ask Rachelle or a workshop assistant for support

  • Follow instructor directions at all times. Our instructors are there to help you work safely, learn proper techniques, and get the most out of your workshop.
  • Always wear appropriate safety protection when operating power tools. Glasses, dust masks, and ear plugs are provided to all participants.
  • Secure long hair and loose clothing before operating machinery. Remove dangling jewelry, watches, rings, and anything else that could become caught in moving equipment.
  • Never troubleshoot equipment yourself. If a machine or tool appears damaged, is not operating correctly, or behaves unexpectedly, stop using it immediately and notify Rachelle or a workshop assistant.

Working Together

  • Be respectful of other participants. Bring a positive attitude, be courteous, and give others the space they need to work safely.
  • Never interrupt someone operating a power tool. Do not distract, approach, or attempt to assist someone while they are actively operating machinery unless they have asked for help or there is an immediate safety concern.
  • Keep conversations and activities away from active machinery. Make sure everyone can maintain their focus while operating tools.

Personal Tools & Equipment

  • Personal tools are not permitted in the workshops.
