DIY Workshop: Shelf with Hooks
Learn how to create a 22" shelf with hooks in this DIY workshop led by Rachelle from Project Pine Designs at Rona+.
This women’s-only workshop* is designed to be a welcoming, judgement-free space, perfect for those who are new to power tools or looking for a fun DIY project!

What's Included:
All supplies and materials required to make and hang your own 22" shelf, plus we'll be staining on site! You'll have your choice of 5 SamaN stain options + a take home sample of clear coat varnish.
Note: All wood will be pre-cut. There will be no use of saws during this beginner session.
Refund Policy: Workshop fees are non-refundable, however please contact hello@projectpine.ca at least 48 hrs in advance if would like to transfer registration to another person. No-shows are not eligible for a refund. If you are more than 20 minutes late, it may not be possible to participate in the workshop for safety reasons. A general liability waiver is required for participation & participants must be 18+ years of age.
*This workshop is intended to create a supportive space for those who identify as women. Cis and transgender women, as well as non-binary and gender-diverse individuals who feel most comfortable in a women-centered environment are welcome.

This was such a good workshop! Rachelle explains everything really well, whether you've used power tools before or not. It's a fun, informative, and hands on workshop, and it flies by too quickly.
If your goal is to be comfortable using power tools, then you'll definitely reach it during this class. The bonus is you to make an item that will look amazing in your home!
This is an absolutely wonderful class. Fun, relaxed, informative, and interesting. A great chance to try your hand at woodwork project without be so challenging that you give up in despair. Whether you have never picked up a tool, have basic awareness or have actually tackled a few projects before, this class gives the opportunity for a bit more hands on experience. I love the "no judgement, no stress" approach from the instructor and from the other women in the group. And, you come home with a terrific shelf that you can't point to an say "Yes, I made that"! Pricing is extremely reasonable for what you get out of the session and it isn't a huge time commitment. I've signed up for more, and can't wait to do them. Hope this group continues to add new ideas to the list.
Rachelle is a wonderful, welcoming teacher and this workshop was so fun. It was a great way to get comfortable with power tools - safe, encouraging environment and I made a beautiful shelf for my coffee / tea area! I would do another one and bring friends.
I’ve done a few workshops with Project Pine and as someone with very little handy skill going into them I always feel like I’ve walked away with not only a fun creation to display in my home but also skills that I can use and apply later on. It truly is beginner friendly but also allows for independence if you have a skill already so you can move at a speed you’re comfortable with. I love that it’s women focused and the ladies in all the workshops have been fabulous to connect with. Highly recommend you try out a workshop if you haven’t already! I’m looking forward to future ones already :)
