Address Sign FAQ

Chalkboard Chique FAQ

  • Can you make a sign with letters? 23A

Yes! The letters are the same size as the numbers (5” tall). Pricing to add a letter is the equivalent to a number (meaning 23A would be the price of 3 numbers).

  • Can we do address signs with ½?  Ie. 35 ½

Unfortunately, not yet, but this is in the works!

  • What colour can I get my numbers in?

All of our signs currently come with WHITE numbers.

  • What colour can I get my sign in?

We offer 3 base colours: Ebony, Walnut, and Grey!

  • Can we do addresses with words? Ie. 25 Smith Street

Unfortunately, not yet, due to the current letter sizing restrictions.

  • How large are the numbers? Can you see them from the street?

Our numbers are 5” tall and approx. 3” wide. Because we use white numbers against a contrasting base panel (Ebony, Grey, or Walnut) they are highly visible.

  • How weather resistant are the signs?!

Our signs are made with wood but are protected with 4 coats of Varathane’s Exterior Satin Diamond Wood Finish in Satin (the least shiny possible option). I use this type of varnish because it is clear & never yellows.

If your sign will be constantly exposed to the elements it is recommended that customers touch up their signs with varnish one a year to keep it lasting forever.

  • How are the signs hung?

Black sawtooth hooks are provided for each sign. This allows the sign to be hung on screws (like a picture!) which are fastened to the house exterior. I can attach them for you, OR I can leave them detached so you can match existing holes from a previous sign.

If you've got brick and you're weary of drilling into your house exterior, we've found an handy-dandy alternative. On Friday, you'll be able to add-on brick clips to your purchase to easy your installation-anxiety.

Don't have brick but still unsure about installation? Send me a message and I'll scope out some youtube tutorials!
